Delicious Italian Meatloaf

๐Ÿ๐Ÿง€ Who’s in the mood for some delicious homemade meatloaf? ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ This recipe includes ground beef, Italian sausage, and a blend of flavorful herbs and spices. Top it off with marinara sauce and grated mozzarella cheese for a perfect meal. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ #homemademeatloaf #delicious #foodie

*Ingredients :

ยฐ1 lb ground beef

ยฐ1/2 lb mild Italian sausage

ยฐ1 finely chopped onion

1/2 C. chopped bell pepper (I used orange, that’s all I had in the freezer)

ยฐ1 C. of olive oil

ยฐ1 C. Worcestershire sauce

ยฐ1 clove of garlic

ยฐ1/2 t. Oregano

ยฐ1/2 t. basil

ยฐ1/2 t. parsley

ยฐ1 egg, beaten

ยฐ3/4 C. Italian breadcrumbs

ยฐ2 slices of white bread, crumbled

ยฐ1 tablespoon of milk

ยฐ8oz. grated mozzarella cheese, reserve 3/4 C. for garnish

ยฐ1/4 C. Parmesan cheese

ยฐ1 C. marinara sauce, plus 1/2 -3/3 more for garnish

*Directions:

In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. high heat and sautรฉ the onion and bell pepper for 3-4 minutes, remove from the heat. In a large bowl, add the meats, onion and peppers along with all the remaining ingredients, reserving 3/4 C. of mozzarella cheese for garnish. Dive in now with the best tools God has given you, your hands and combine it all very well. Once everything is well mixed, place and mold the mixture into a baking dish of your choice. I used my oval portuguese stoneware for ours. Pour 1/2 to 3/4 C. of marinara sauce on top, also spreading around. Place in a 400 degree oven for about 50 minutes. Remove from oven and garnish with remaining cheese and sprinkle dry basil on top. Return to oven for 10 more minutes. Make sure the meat is not pink before serving, cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your bread. Mine was about 2โ€ณ thick.
